Mandeville Update:

October 11th Update

September 30th Update

People are coming by the church to say thanks. We have folks in church each Sunday as a result of the testimony and good works by our volunteers.

More and more are coming by and asking "if this is the church that helps people?" The lady who first made that statement is fortunate to be alive. A tree came through her ceiling and spiked her mattress next to her while she was in bed. Finally after three weeks the tree is off her roof and out of her bedroom.

People are asking about what is left to do. There are many trees remaining that can be cut up and removed in Mandeville. We have tried to do the most urgent ones first. But we are still finding people who need help. And there are a lot of cases that are not emergency that have been shelved until help is available. Some cases require a crane or professional help. We don't want to take any chances on safety and we ask that nobody attempt to do anything without primary consideration for safety.

The next phase in Mandeville will be roof repair. I don't want to see people get taken in by those willing to charge outrageous fees. There is good job market for the honest laborer and most in Mandeville have insurance and can pay. But there is so much to do that it may take a while to get someone to do it. There are those who cannot afford the insurance deductible or the minor repairs to their roofs. We want to help these people.
